Your Fundraising Journey

Most successful funding rounds follow a predictable pattern. Here's how we guide startups through each critical phase, from initial preparation through closing and beyond.

1

Foundation Assessment

We evaluate your business model, financials, and market position. This isn't about judgment - it's about understanding your strengths and identifying areas that need attention before you start pitching to investors.

2

Investor Alignment

Our network includes over 300 active investors across Canada. We match you with those who actually invest in your sector, stage, and geographic market. No spray-and-pray approach here.

3

Pitch Development

Together, we craft presentations that address the specific concerns and interests of your matched investors. Each deck is customized based on what we know about their investment thesis and portfolio gaps.

4

Due Diligence Support

When investors express serious interest, we help you navigate their evaluation process. This includes financial review preparation, reference calls, and negotiation strategy development.

Common Questions from Founders

These come up in almost every initial conversation. If you don't see your specific situation covered, reach out and we'll discuss your particular circumstances.

What stage companies do you work with most often?

Most of our successful placements are post-revenue companies with at least some customer traction. That said, we've helped pre-revenue startups with exceptional teams and clear market opportunities. The key is having something concrete to show investors - whether that's early sales, a working prototype, or significant market validation.

How long does the typical fundraising process take?

From initial preparation to closing, most rounds take 4-8 months. Companies with strong financials and clear growth metrics tend to move faster. Those needing significant preparation work might take longer. We've seen deals close in 6 weeks and others take over a year - it really depends on market conditions and how ready your company is.

Do you take equity or charge upfront fees?

We work on a success-fee basis - you only pay when you successfully raise capital. Our standard fee is 3-5% of the funding amount, which is typical for the industry. We never charge upfront fees or require equity stakes. This aligns our incentives with yours - we succeed when you succeed.

What happens if we don't raise the full amount we're targeting?

About 60% of the rounds we work on close at or above the initial target. Sometimes market feedback leads founders to adjust their raise size - either up or down. We help you evaluate whether a smaller round makes sense or if it's better to pause and strengthen your position before continuing.

Leadership That Understands Both Sides

Our team has experience as both entrepreneurs and investors. We've been through the fundraising process ourselves and know what works - and what doesn't - in the Canadian market.
